Born on 24.05.1962. Stood third in the order of merit in LL.B. examination. Started practice in the year 1985 and joined Chambers of advocate Shri S.N.Loya. Practiced in trial Court, High Court and Debt Recovery Tribunal. Was the advocate for myriad Financial Institutions, many corporate bodies and Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. Also represented Government before Justice Mane Commission. Elevated as an Additional Judge of Bombay High Court on 13.03.2010 and as the Acting Chief Justice of Bombay High Court in December 2022. On 28.05.2023, was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court and assumed office on 29.05.2023.



Extra curricular activities: Is a keen sportsman. Represented Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marthwada University six times and captained it twice in All India Inter-University Lawn Tennis Tournament. Played Basketball at State level. Was honorary part time lecturer in M.P.Law College since 1991 till date of elevation as Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court

Born on 13/09/1960. Appointed as Judge of the High Court of Rajasthan High Court on Jul 5, 2007. Transferred to Allahabad High Court and took oath as Judge on March 15, 2019. Practised in the Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur and Jaipur, Central Administrative Tribunal, Jaipur and initially in Supreme Court in Constitutional, Civil, Service, Labour, Criminal and Arbitration matters and specialised in Constitutional, Service, Labour & Arbitration matters. Was Standing Counsel for Railways; Rajasthan Road Transport Corporation; Nuclear Power Corporation; State Election Commission; Rajasthan University; all Government Electricity Companies of Rajasthan; Jaipur Development Authority; Jaipur Municipal Corporation; Rajasthan Housing Board; Ganga Nagar Sugar Mills Ltd.; Rajasthan Agricultural University. Remained the Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court from June 26, 2021 upto Oct 10, 2021. Transferred to Madras High Court and took oath as judge on Nov 22nd 2021.


Performed the duties of the office of the Chief Justice as Acting Chief Justice from 22.11.2021 to 13.02.2022. Appointed as Chief Justice on 10.02.2022 and assumed the office of Chief Justice on 14.02.2022.

Born on November 2, 1961. Studied in St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Calcutta and St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling. Passed B.Sc. with Honours in Economics in the year 1983 and LL.B. in the year 1986-87 – both from the University of Calcutta. Was enrolled as Advocate on November 21, 1990. Practised principally in the High Court at Calcutta as well as in the Supreme Court of India, other High Courts and Tribunals, primarily in Civil, Company, Arbitration and Constitutional Law branches. Specialised in Corporate and Intellectual Property Laws matters. Was elevated to the Bench of the High Court at Calcutta as a permanent Judge on June 22, 2006. Has delivered judgments in matters encompassing almost all branches including important public interest litigations. Appointed as Chief Justice of the Madras High Court vide Notification No. K. 13026/04/2020-US.I Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice (Department of Justice) and assumed the office of Chief Justice of Madras High Court on January 4, 2021.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi was born on 01.01.1959. After having graduated in law in the year 1985, enrolled as an advocate on 06.09.1985. His lordship practised in Allahabad High Court mainly on the Civil & Constitutional side, and also worked as counsel for large number of Educational Institutions including AAI (Deemed University), MRI Institute of Maths, Allahabad. His lordship was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on 24.09.2004 and became permanent Judge on 18.08.2005. His lordship was elevated as Chief Justice of Patna High Court from 17.11.2018. His Lordship was transferred to Madras High Court and sworn in as Chief Justice on 11.11.2019. His Lordship to his credit has a disposal of 70,000 contested cases at Allahabad High Court and about 2500 cases at Patna High Court, including Civil, Criminal, Writ, Miscellaneous and Full Benches, as well as referred matters.

26.06.2001 Elevated as Judge of the Bombay High Court.
Delivered number of landmark judgments including many in death sentence cases and the Bilkis Bano (Godhra riots case), which was transferred to Maharashtra from Gujarat by the Supreme Court. The Bilkis Bano case was a very voluminous and complicated case. The judgment in Bilkis Bano case ran into almost 400 pages. Heard and decided WP/PIL relating to women prisoners and laid down guidelines regarding pregnant women prisoners. Many of the judgments are reported in law journals on various subjects of law.
